The Elements of Telling A Good Story (Periodic Table)

April 20, 2014
The Periodic Table of Storytelling is a detailed chart created by James Harris where he featured the basic story elements: structure, settings, plot devices, story modifiers, and hero archetypes. Clicking on any of these elements will take you to a page where you will find more explanations on that element.

The Periodic Table of Storytelling can be used in classroom to stimulate discussions about students favourite stories and can also be used as a writing aid to help students overcome the writer's block. This periodic table is also available in poster format but the poster is not free.
